Security and compliance are the two most important issues that stand out from the many that exist. With the initiative “SaaS Quality Seal” and by working out the fundamentals of the legal background, EuroCloud has started important projects to improve the general framework for a successful implementation of Cloud services in different areas (software, platform and infrastructure).
This guide is a basis for the correct classification of the legal requirements and focuses on the area of Software as a Service as a “public Cloud service”. This has resulted in the emergence of special requirements pertaining to data protection, which schould always apply to all SaaS applications. The overview of topics is derived from the test criteria used by the EuroCloud SaaS Quality Seal which is a thorough test of “Software as a Service” products, in terms of service, data security, data protection, contract terms, and interoperability.
